Description

Golden Rain is a subtle, light wall panel inspired by natural stone, marked by delicate gold-beige veining on a cream-white background. The slender, irregular veins running down the surface recall streams of golden rain — hence the name Golden Rain.

The light colouring makes a room look larger, while the warm golden accents give the interior a more elegant and luxurious character. The pattern stays light and understated, so it never dominates the room and works with both light and dark furnishings.

Golden Rain works well as a finish for a bathroom, shower area, kitchen, living room, hallway or feature wall. It looks particularly good combined with wood, black, gold details and neutral shades of beige and white.

Installation guide

1 / 5

STEP 1

Preparation and cleaning

Make sure the old tiles are firmly attached to the wall. Clean the wall thoroughly with a good degreaser (e.g. St. Marc or ammonia) and let it dry completely. A clean surface is the basis for good adhesion.

STEP 2

Measuring and cutting

Measure the wall. Dizzplace PVC boards are only 3 mm thick, so they are very easy to cut to size. Use a sharp utility knife (score and snap) or an angle grinder with a diamond disc for precise cuts around pipes.

STEP 3

Applying the adhesive

Apply a high-quality polymer adhesive (High Tack) to the back of the board. Use a zigzag or dot pattern to spread the adhesive evenly.

STEP 4

Positioning and pressing

Press the board firmly against the old tiled wall. At just 3 mm thick, you lose practically no space in the bathroom.

STEP 5

Waterproof sealing

Neatly finish corners, edges along the floor and joints with the shower tray or bath using mould-resistant sanitary silicone in a matching colour. This guarantees a 100% waterproof seal.

Frequently asked questions

Can the panels be installed over old tiles?

Yes — as long as the tiles are stable, clean and degreased. You glue the panels straight on, no demolition needed.

Are the panels suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. PVC and SPC panels are fully waterproof, so they work well in bathrooms, kitchens and other wet areas.

How do I clean the panels day to day?

Just wipe with a damp cloth. The smooth, grout-free surface makes it easy to keep clean.

How long does installation take?

Under good conditions, as little as 1 day. The large format means fewer joints and faster work.

Panels instead of tiles? See the difference

It's not just about looks. Time, the scope of work and how the wall is maintained afterwards matter just as much.

PVC / SPC panels

Renovation time: Under good conditions, installed in as little as 1 day
Scope of work: Often without removing stable existing tiles
Everyday cleaning: Large, smooth surface with fewer joints
Installation method: Cutting the panel to size and gluing it to the prepared surface

Traditional tiles

Renovation time: More steps, including grouting and drying time
Scope of work: Usually more prep work and more rubble
Everyday cleaning: More grout lines that need regular care
Installation method: Cutting, gluing, grouting and finishing

Installation time depends on the room size, the condition of the surface, the chosen panel and the installer's experience.
